Traditional School Tutoring (Prek-6th)

K–6 Traditional School Tutoring

To support families, Academics With Alex accepts Afterpay, offers partial payment plans, and provides sliding-scale options when needed.

Session Details

All sessions are 1 hour to 1 hour and 20 minutes and follow a consistent five-part structure:

  1. Warm-Up – A fun, subject-based activity to get the student engaged
  2. Basic Practice – Core skills such as spelling, grammar, multiplication, addition, and more
  3. Brain Break – A short reset with coloring or an educational game
  4. Instructional Time – Continued skill-building tailored to the student’s level
  5. Cool Down – A brief parent check-in to review progress

Can’t make it to Winter Haven? Not a problem. Traditional school tutoring is also available at local libraries in Lake Wales, Lakeland, Haines City, Davenport and Bartow.

Registration

All deposits are $40.00.
The deposit pays for your child’s first tutoring session.

Homeschool tutoring provides structured, one‑on‑one academic support in a calm, consistent environment. Every session follows a predictable routine and is tailored to your child’s needs.

Local Out‑of‑Office Homeschool Tutoring

This option is for families who prefer in‑home support but live outside Polk County. Sessions take place in your home and follow the same academic routine used in the office.

Cities Served: Clermont, Tampa, Kissimmee
 Plan: 2 sessions per month • 2 hours each
 Rate: $125 per month
 Deposit: $25
 Remaining Balance: Due the day of the session or the day after

Extended‑County Homeschool Tutoring

Extended‑county tutoring is available once per month for families who want a full week of in‑home support. Families may reserve the full week (Monday–Thursday) once per month, and tutors take care of my own lodging during travel. Only safe, pre‑approved areas are served.

Counties Served: Broward • Duval (excluding Jacksonville) Marion

Weekly Options (2‑hour sessions each day):

  • 4‑Day Week: $475
  • 3‑Day Week: $375
  • 2‑Day Week: $300

Payment:

  • Deposit: $100 total ($50 before travel)
  • Remaining Balance: Due Friday of the week of services

Out‑of‑State Homeschool Tutoring

Travel‑based homeschool tutoring is available once per month for families who prefer in‑home support during the week. Tutors take care of my own lodging during travel, and these sessions follow the same weekly structure as extended‑county tutoring.

McCain Academy

Who We Are

  • McCain Academy was founded in 2026 by Alexzandra “Alex” McCain in Winter Haven, Florida. We are a small Christian microschool serving K–6th grade students in a calm, intimate setting with a 2:1 maximum ratio so every child receives focused attention.
  • We teach Math, Reading, Social Studies, and Science using the BJU Christian homeschool curriculum, supported by Carson Dellosa Spectrum materials for extra practice. Families may choose to attend 1 or 2 days per week as part of their homeschool routine.
  • Our school is shaped by Deuteronomy 31:6:
  • “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.”
  • This reflects our desire for both children and staff to feel safe, supported, and confident in who God created them to be.
  • We are a Christian program, but belief is not required. We welcome all families, and every child is treated with kindness, respect, and dignity.

Our Current Programs

  • McCain Academy currently offers an introductory Chess Club for children ages 7–10. This program meets every other Friday from 2:00–3:30 PM and is designed to help students build confidence, practice strategy, and enjoy learning in a relaxed, supportive environment. The cost is $100/month for Step Up students and $60/month for out‑of‑pocket families, and includes snacks, drinks, skill ranks, and chess gear.

McCain Academy is moving toward larger facilities to offer more programs for our families and students. As we grow, we will introduce language courses, art, music, P.E., and aftercare—creating more ways for families to homeschool away from home in a happy, Christ‑centered environment. McCain Academy Pricing & Enrollment

McCain Academy is billed monthly. Families choose the subjects and weekly schedule that work best for them. Each subject meets once per week and includes instruction, guided practice, and a short break. All classes are offered on campus only.

Out‑of‑Pocket Families

$35 per class

A one‑time $50 enrollment deposit is due at registration.

This deposit holds your child’s spot and is applied to your first month’s invoice.

Examples:

• 1 class per week for 4 weeks: 4 × $35 = $140 per month

• 2 classes per month: $125 per month

Step Up Scholarship Families

$50 per class

Step Up families pay a $100 enrollment deposit, which is not applied to the first month’s invoice.

Example:

• 1 class per week for 4 weeks: 4 × $50 = $200 per month

Step Up pricing is slightly higher because scholarships require extra paperwork and processing, and this helps keep McCain Academy accessible for all families.
